Picture windows are large fixed windows designed to frame external views and maximise natural light. With no opening vents, handles or hinges interrupting the glass, they create clean sightlines and a stronger visual connection between the interior and its surroundings.
Every picture window is fixed, but not every fixed window is designed as a picture window. The term generally describes a non-opening window whose size, position and proportions have been chosen specifically to frame a view or form an architectural feature.
Sieger designs and installs bespoke picture windows using slim aluminium frames or frameless structural glazing. Fixed glazing can be installed independently or coordinated with opening windows, sliding doors and bifold doors to create a consistent glazing package for extensions, renovations and contemporary homes.
Each picture window is made to measure for the required opening, surrounding construction and performance requirements. Options include large aluminium picture windows, floor-to-ceiling glazing, bespoke shapes and frameless structural glass with concealed perimeter fixings.
